Why two licences

One Job, Two Trades, One Team

Security installation in Victoria requires a security licence. The cabling that connects it to the network legally requires a separate ACMA registration. Most installers hold one or the other.

That is why a camera system, a network and an internet connection usually arrive as three trades on three different days, each waiting on the one before it, and each blaming the other when something does not work.

  • Security Licence Z67-511-50S covers cameras, alarms, entry systems and monitoring
  • ACMA Cabler Licence T59216 covers data cabling, networks and the connection side
  • One assessment that looks at the whole property rather than one trade's part of it
  • One quote, one visit, and one number to call afterwards

Service

Repairs and Servicing, Any Brand

We work on systems other companies installed, and a fault call stays a fault call rather than becoming a quote for a replacement.

Most of what we attend turns out to be a setting left on factory default, a flat backup battery, a drive that filled and stopped overwriting, or a network change that took cameras offline months ago without anyone being told. Those are service visits.

We will tell you plainly when something cannot be economically repaired.

And we will tell you just as plainly when it can, which is more often than most people expect.

Who we work for

Four Kinds of Property, Four Different Answers

The same camera behaves differently on a townhouse, a warehouse and forty acres. What decides the system is the property, not the brochure.

Homes and townhouses

Cameras, alarms, intercoms and Wi-Fi for houses, townhouses and dual occupancies. Most jobs cross more than one, which is why one licensed team turning up beats three trades.

Apartments and strata

Lot work and common property work quoted separately, so a committee can approve its part while you proceed with yours. Handset upgrades often need no approval at all.

Business and retail

Shopfronts, offices, warehouses and industrial yards. Access control that ends when a staff member does, and coverage where stock and vehicles actually move.

Rural and acreage

Satellite internet where fixed line will not reach, wireless links out to sheds, solar cameras on distant boundaries, and backup that carries a real outage.

Service areas

Melbourne and Regional Victoria

Each area has its own page setting out what the local conditions mean for a system there, because salt air, gum canopy, slope and bushfire zoning all change the specification.

Eastern Suburbs

Nunawading, Mitcham, Blackburn, Box Hill, Forest Hill, Doncaster, Ringwood, Balwyn, Camberwell, Burwood

Inner Melbourne

Richmond, South Yarra, Prahran, Brunswick, Docklands and the CBD

Northern Suburbs

Reservoir, Bundoora, Epping, Ivanhoe and the northern growth corridor

South-East & Bayside

Brighton, Sandringham, Bentleigh, Caulfield, Carnegie, Dandenong, Rowville

Western Melbourne

Melton, Footscray, Sunshine and the western estates

Regional Victoria

Questions

Common Questions About Our Services

What services does Borderless Solutions provide?

Two sides of one job. Security covers CCTV, alarms, access control, intercoms, smart home integration and personal alarms. Connectivity covers Starlink, digital antennas, Wi-Fi and mesh networks, point to point wireless links, mobile signal boosters, TV wall mounting and NBN relocations. We also repair and service systems other companies installed.

Why does holding two licences matter?

Security installation in Victoria requires a security licence. Cabling that connects to the telecommunications network legally requires a separate ACMA registration. Most installers hold one or the other, which is why a camera system, a network and an internet connection usually arrive as three trades on three days. We hold Security Licence Z67-511-50S and Cabler Licence T59216, so it is one booking.

Do you cover both homes and businesses?

Yes. Houses, townhouses, apartments and strata buildings on the residential side. Shopfronts, offices, warehouses, clinics, construction sites and multi-site businesses on the commercial side. The hardware barely changes between them. What changes is who owns which part of the building and what the obligations are.

Do you service systems you did not install?

Yes, and a fault call stays a fault call rather than becoming a quote for a replacement. Most of what we attend turns out to be a setting, a flat backup battery, a full drive or a network change rather than failed hardware.

How much do your services cost?

Every service is priced after a free on site assessment and confirmed in writing. What moves the number is the property rather than the product, because cable routes, mounting access and the number of positions decide most of it. There is nothing to pay if you decide not to proceed.

Which areas of Melbourne do you cover?

Metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, from our head office at 81 Junction Rd, Nunawading. Eastern suburbs assessments are usually same day or next day, and we run scheduled visits out to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and the Yarra Valley.

Can you handle security and internet on the same visit?

Yes, and that is the reason we hold both licences. A camera at the back gate needs a cable, the cable needs a network, and the network needs a connection that stays up. On most properties that is three bookings. Here it is one.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Security Licence Z67-511-50S and ACMA Cabler Licence T59216, both published so you can verify them independently. We would suggest asking the same of anyone else quoting you.

Not Sure Which Service You Need?

That is the normal position, and it is what the free assessment is for. A licensed technician walks the property, tells you what it actually needs, and puts a fixed price in writing. Nothing to sign on the day.
