About
Two licences, one team
Why the cameras, the network and the internet arrive on the same visit.
Borderless Solutions was founded in Melbourne in 2021. We install security systems and connectivity for homes and businesses across Melbourne and regional Victoria, from a head office on Junction Road in Nunawading.
The job that needed three trades
A camera at the back gate needs a cable. The cable needs a network. The network needs an internet connection that does not drop out. On most properties that is three separate bookings, three separate quotes, and three separate people blaming each other when something does not work.
The reason is licensing. Security work in Victoria requires a security licence. Running the cabling that connects it legally requires an ACMA registered cabler licence. Most installers hold one or the other, so most installers can only do half the job.
We hold both. Security Licence Z67-511-50S covers the security side. Cabler Licence T59216 covers the data and connectivity side. That is the whole reason this business exists, and it is why a camera system, a network and a satellite connection can be handled by one team in one visit.
From one van to a Melbourne wide service area
Founded in Melbourne
Borderless Solutions started with a single van and a simple observation, that customers were paying three trades to finish one job. The first year was almost entirely residential CCTV and alarm work across the eastern suburbs.
The cabler licence
Adding the ACMA cabler registration changed what we could take on. Data cabling, network points and structured wiring came in house, which meant no more waiting on a second trade to finish what we had started.
Connectivity became half the business
Regional Victoria was asking for something metropolitan installers were not offering. Satellite internet, point to point links between sheds and dwellings, and antenna work on properties where fixed line was never going to arrive.
Commercial and access control
Industrial yards, retail shopfronts, strata buildings and multi tenancy sites. Access control, intercoms and monitored alarms alongside the camera work, with the network built to carry all of it.
Melbourne and regional Victoria
A field team working from Nunawading out through the eastern and bayside suburbs, into the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges, and on to Bendigo, Geelong and Melton. 5.0 from 82 Google reviews.
What happens between the call and the handover
A technician walks the property
Not a phone estimate and not a floor plan. The approaches decide the system, and you cannot see an approach on a drawing. On a treed or sloping block this is most of the job.
A fixed price in writing
What goes where, what it costs, and what it does not include. Free, no obligation, and nothing to sign on the day. If a second visit would be cheaper for you, we say so.
Positions confirmed before drilling
On install day every position is walked with you before anything is cut. Moving a camera afterwards means patching the first set of holes.
Tuned on site, after dark where it matters
Detection zones drawn around your property rather than left on factory settings. This is the difference between a system you use and a system you mute.
Handover you can actually use
The app set up on your phone, not just installed. You see the footage, arm the system and add a user before we leave.
The same team answers the phone
We service what we install and we service systems other installers fitted. A fault call does not become a quote for a new system.
The parts most companies leave out
We will not quote without seeing the property, because a price given over the phone is a guess that someone pays for later. We will not sell a package that does not fit, so if four cameras cover a property properly we will not quote eight. We will not point a camera into a neighbour's yard or a shared area we have no right to record, and we will say so on site if that is what is being asked for.
We do not run a call centre. The technician who quotes the job is the technician who does it, and the number on the invoice is the number that answers when something needs attention.
Melbourne and regional Victoria
Our head office is at 81 Junction Rd, Nunawading VIC 3131, which puts most of the eastern suburbs within a short drive. Coverage runs across metropolitan Melbourne and out through regional Victoria, and the local conditions genuinely change the work. Salt air on the bayside changes the fixings. Gum canopy in the outer east changes the mounting height. A bushfire zone changes whether battery backup is optional.
Every suburb we cover has its own page setting out what the local conditions actually mean for a system there. See the full service area, or read sixteen completed installations with the problem, the work and the outcome on each.
Security on one side, connectivity on the other
The two halves of the business are not separate services sold by the same company. They are the same job. A camera is a network device. An alarm that reports to your phone needs a connection that stays up. An intercom that releases a gate is running over cabling that legally requires a licence to install.
Cameras, alarms, access and intercoms
CCTV for homes, retail, warehouses and construction sites. Monitored and unmonitored alarm systems. Access control on staff doors, roller doors and gates. Video intercoms for houses, apartments and multi tenancy buildings. We install new systems and we service systems other installers fitted.

Satellite, network, antenna and links
Satellite internet where fixed line does not reach or does not perform. Point to point wireless links between dwellings, sheds and outbuildings. Structured data cabling and network points. Wi-Fi that covers a whole property rather than one room. Digital antenna and reception work.
Satellite internet, point to point links, Wi-Fi installation, antenna installation.
On most properties a job crosses both. A rural block wanting cameras at the gate needs the connection to carry them first. A shop wanting access control on the staff door needs the network the reader reports to. Doing both under one set of licences is the whole point.
What people ask before they book
Do you work on systems somebody else installed?
Yes, and it stays a service call. A fault, an offline camera or constant false alerts does not have to become a quote for a replacement system. Most of the time the fix is a position or a setting.
How long does a typical install take?
A residential camera system is usually a day. A satellite install is usually half a day unless the property needs coverage beyond the router. Access control and commercial work depends on the number of doors and whether the cabling exists.
Do I need to be home?
For the assessment yes, because the positions have to be agreed with you. For the install, someone needs to be there at the start and at handover, and we would rather you were there when positions are confirmed.
What happens if a camera stops working later?
Call the number on the invoice. The same team answers. We diagnose remotely first where we can, because a lot of faults are settings rather than hardware and that saves you a callout.
Can you install equipment I already bought?
Usually yes. If a kit is already sitting in the garage that is a straightforward install visit. What we will not do is fit equipment that is clearly wrong for the property without telling you first.
Are you insured?
Yes, and licensed. Ask any installer for both. Working at height on a roof, or cutting into a wall, without insurance behind it is your risk, not theirs.
