Is it legal to install security cameras at my home?
Covering your own property is generally fine. Where it becomes sensitive is footage capturing a neighbour’s private space — inside their windows or their back yard — and audio recording, which Australian law treats more strictly than video. We position cameras to cover your boundary without pointing into someone else’s living space, and we will tell you if a position you have asked for is likely to cause a problem. Businesses recording staff have separate notification obligations.
Will wireless cameras work if my internet goes down?

Can you install cameras without running cables?

With a camera specified and positioned for it, yes. Plate capture needs a dedicated angle, the right shutter speed and a suitable sensor — a general overview camera will not manage it, particularly at night with headlights facing it. Do you service camera systems you didn't install?
